This morning Ocado arrived with my order for the next three days … My OH is doing the programme with me so I doubled up on the shopping list and over £60 worth of fruit and veg is now attempting to burst it’s way out of my teeny tiny fridge …

Last night I stuck the wall planner up on the kitchen wall, re-read the relevant chapters in the book and tried to mentally prepare myself for the next 7 days.  For those that know me, know that I LOVE food – I love cooking and I’ve an incredibly sweet tooth.  So giving up solids for a week is rather daunting.

But this is day one and the after our hot water with lemon this morning we’re on to the first of Jason Vale’s juices – the Super Juice.

In a nutshell it’s a vile green colour, tastes slightly of a spring meadow and not a drink that I’m jumping up and down about.  It’s drinkable though and I’ve got to have two of these today so I suppose I’ve just got to grin and bear it … will update later on how the rest of the day went!

Juice Master Super Juice

Super Juice (for 2 people)

1 lime, peeled
4 apples (we used Golden Delicious)
½ pineapple
½ medium cucumber
½ ripe avocado
2oz fresh wheatgrass or wheatgrass powder
2 level tsp spirulina
2 capsule of acidophilus bacteria powder
8 Ice cubes

Juice the apples, pineapple, cucumber and lime. Put the avocado flesh into a blender with the ice, wheatgrass, spirulina and the bacteria powder.  Blend everything until smooth.  Pour and, if you’re anything like me, sniff it, grimace then gulp it down!

UPDATE:
We’re on juice four of the day and although I’m not hungry as such my whole body is craving food … my head is pounding and I don’t think I’ve ever felt this grumpy!

Going on a play date with my 5yr old after school nearly had me diving into the plates of chicken nuggets and potato waffles such was my need for food.

This is tough people … might have to go to bed early and hope I don’t dream about juicy steaks, pencil thin fries, freshly made Béarnaise sauce and steamed broccoli … only 6 more days to go!
